About the role

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

JT4 is seeking a mission planner to provide operational mission planning support functions to the F-35 program. The Mission Planner will support primary and secondary customers and may be required to support a multi-state region by performing updates, upgrades, maintenance, and disposition of hardware/software. They will work with current mission planning teams to fill in where needed elsewhere. Information Technology experience with military aviation, and/or mission planning experience required. Candidate must have or be able to obtain and maintain Security+ certification within 6 months of hire. Perform mission planning utilizing the organization's software tools. Plans and coordinate/develop mission scenarios for military aircraft, including Foreign Military Sales programs. The candidate will provide all planning and coordination elements required to execute the full scope of mission planning for operations, training, test, and exercise sorties, including post-mission debrief products.

FUNCTIONS AND DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in one of the following areas: DoD Rated Aircrew, DoD Flight/Mission Planning, and/or other relevant work experience.
  • Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR)
  • Plan, develop and build mission scenarios utilizing the Joint Mission Planning System (JPMS) and other software tool interfaces such as Precision Guided Mission Planning System (PGMPS) to determine and achieve optimum route planning, weapon planning, electronic warfare planning, and air refueling planning parameters to best support the mission requirements.
  • Load the planned mission data to the aircraft Data Transfer Cartridge (DTC) and perform post-mission data reduction for engineering analysis.
  • Coordinate daily with mission operations and aircrew on mission requirements and support upcoming flight test schedules; respond timely to adjustments in schedule, test objectives, aircraft, range and aircrew to update mission planning products.
  • Perform system administration including loading Digital Aeronautical Flight Information File (DAFIF) updates to JMPS mission planning systems with the latest aeronautical flight planning data (digital map data and other F16-specific downloads).
  • Provide technical input to mission planning sections of test plans and test reports.
  • Identify and submit deficiency reports for issues discovered during the testing of developmental software for mission planning.
  • Current DoD Secret Clearance
  • Ability to get a Crypto/COMSEC clearance.
  • CompTIA Security+ required or be able to obtain and maintain Security+ certification within 6 months of hire.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Completion of technical training and at least 14 years of related experience; or an associate's degree and 11 years of related experience; or a related bachelor's degree (engineering, math, computer science, or physics) and 8 years of related experience; or a related Master's degree. The incumbent must understand concepts, principles, and practices of engineering and analysis to enable the employee to serve as a technical authority on projects relating to the specific programs. The position requires knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in technology to solve problems in the specialty area. The incumbent must maintain excellent communication and analytical skills and working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. The incumbent must possess a valid, state issued driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance up to Top Secret with Special Access. Must be a U.S. citizen. Ā 

SALARY

The expected salary range for this position is $116,563 to $140,000 annually.
