Network Engineering Lead

Evolver is seeking a Network Engineering Lead. This role is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure. You will lead a team of network engineers, collaborating with other departments to ensure that our network systems meet the needs of the organization efficiently and securely. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining network performance, availability, and scalability while adhering to industry best practices and security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Architecture Design: Develop and maintain the overall architecture of the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business objectives and scalability requirements.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of network engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to ensure the successful execution of network projects and daily operations.
- Network Implementation: Oversee the implementation of network solutions, including hardware, software, and configurations, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and security standards.
- Network Security: Collaborate with the security team to implement and maintain robust network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and access controls.
- Network Monitoring and Optimization: Implement network monitoring tools and processes to proactively identify and address performance issues, optimize network performance, and ensure high availability.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with network equipment vendors, service providers, and contractors, ensuring timely delivery of services and support.
- Troubleshooting and Incident Response: Lead the resolution of complex network issues and outages, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
- Documentation and Standards Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Capacity Planning: Conduct regular capacity assessments to anticipate future network requirements and plan for upgrades or expansions as needed.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, operations, and business stakeholders, to understand their requirements and provide effective network solutions and support.
Basic Requirements:
- 7 years in network engineering roles, with a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructure.
- 7 years of hands-on experience with network equipment from leading vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc.) and network management tools.
- 7 years of network management experience
- 5 years of Azure experience, migrating from On-Prem to the cloud
- 5 years of Infrastructure as code (IaC) experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or 7 years related work experience
- Ability to work a hybrid 3X2 schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years in network engineering roles, with a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructure.
- 10 years of hands-on experience with network equipment from leading vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc.) and network management tools.
- 10 years of network management experience
- 8 years of Azure experience, migrating from On-Prem to the cloud
- 8 years of Infrastructure as code (IaC) experience
- Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and switching.
- Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, and authentication protocols.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex network issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Investment management experience is ideal, financial services background is a plus
