The MSTS Mercury, NLV, and Remote Sensing Lab - Nellis (MNR) Maintenance team is seeking a full-time Supervisor to oversee and supervise daily activities of Mercury Maintenance craft employees.  The supervisor’s work location will be Mercury, Nevada on the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS), reporting to the MNR Maintenance Manager.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with all MSTS Safety requirements.
  • Directly supervise bargaining and non-bargaining employees, approve time, conduct performance evaluations, and participate in the recruiting, orientation, and training of staff. 
  • Supervise maintenance craft.
  • Monitor and ensure that preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance are addressed regularly and efficiently.
  • Implement and follow company policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Establish activity level work assignments and maintenance plans.
  • Organize and supervise day-to-day operations, ensuring that schedules are kept.
  • Monitor performance against metrics and goals as established/approved by others.
  • Layout maintenance activities for various building locations and site work.
  • Coordinate all maintenance related activities/scheduling. 
  • Ensure that required equipment is available as needed. 
  • Track and monitor work packages. 
  • Assist Work Planning with estimates regarding, labor and equipment needs when requested.
  • Handle daily preventive and corrective maintenance problems as needed.
  • Responsible for working within assigned budget.
  • Interact daily with subordinates and frequent interaction with manager.
  • External interactions primarily with vendors and/or customers.
  • Attend weekly maintenance and project meetings.
  • Bachelors' degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of related and progressively responsible experience.

     

  • Computer skills including but not limited to: experience using Microsoft Office Suite (which includes Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Project, and more) along with Maximo and Oracle. 
  • Experience reading plans and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of National Electric Code preferred.

     

  • The primary work location will be at the Nevada National Security Site (located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada).
  • Work Schedule is 4/10's Monday – Thursday.  Also, possible overtime, routine and intermittent.
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

 

MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
