Position Overview
This is an opportunity to join the newly formed global CRH Innovation team.
The global innovation team works across CRH Operating Companies and Functions to identify new ways to deliver to the needs of our customers, address our industry's biggest challenges and create value and growth for our shareholders.
The team currently delivers on three fronts: engaging with the provider and customer markets to identify current and emerging needs; funding and supporting the delivery of innovation through technology, process, and communication; and building a world-wide Centre of Excellence, that connects the best and brightest to innovation challenges.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Voice of Customer: Leading and cultivating a customer-centric approach to problem solving, utilizing design thinking or similar principles to bring unique insights and perspective from customers around their biggest challenges and needs and connecting that to internal innovation initiatives at CRH.
- Industry engagement: Builds strong relationships with industry experts; strengthens contact network to support growth. Brings established network and referral contacts from leading players across the construction value chain.
- Solution development: Lead the development of innovative and customized construction solutions that address clients' challenges and requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create ideate, develop and implement innovative solutions that integrate CRH capabilities and address customer needs.
- Trend intelligence: Lead the development of a scalable emerging technology and innovation trend intelligence initiative that will identify, inform and advance strategic innovation initiatives across CRH.
- Cross-functional collaboration: lead engagements with CRH businesses and industry stakeholders to identify and tackle the biggest challenges and develop high-impact use cases around sustainable construction solutions.
- Thought leadership: participate in public and thought leadership forums to establish a stronger presence and relevance across the construction industry and generate collaboration opportunities.
- Communications: demonstratable ability to identify and solve problems creatively, think outside the box, visualize your ideas through impactful presentations, and understand and empathize with your audience.
- People Development: Mentor and develop team members by sharing your extensive knowledge and experience. Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- 6 – 10 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 9+ years of work experience relevant work experience in engineering, construction, innovation, science or strategy/business development.
- Technical knowledge: construction execution experience is preferred, and candidate should be capable of demonstrating an understanding and experience in either direct-hire EPC (cost-re, LSTK, etc.,) PMC, or delivery partner contracting models. Passionate and experienced working in construction with technology and innovation.
- Experienced in leading emerging trend intelligence, market/business research efforts, and performing strategic analysis (e.g., emerging trend, technology, markets and companies) .
- Demonstratable communication and presentation skills.

- The role is based out of the CRH office in Atlanta.
- Advanced skills in Office or similar software suite.
