Job Summary:
Trivium Packaging is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Electrical Technician to join our team. This role will help maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve industrial electrical and automation systems to maximize equipment reliability and minimize production downtime.
Job Duties:
- Thoroughly troubleshoot all problems and areas of concern
- Perform predictive, preventative and routine maintenance on equipment and on the building
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and projects across the facility
- Assist Maintenance Technicians in troubleshooting and repairing plant equipment
- Complete all assigned work in a timely manner with quality and pride
- Check production equipment throughout the plant periodically during the shift to identify potential problems and/or areas of concern, to minimize / eliminate instances of failure.
- Immediately and effectively communicate all problems and concerns with the Maintenance Manager, Manufacturing Manager, and Specialists
- Report all potential food safety concerns to the Quality Assurance manager
- Work in a professional manner with all employees and with outside contractors
- Attend and successfully complete various training classes throughout the year, as assigned
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment, motor controls, VFDs, instrumentation, and electrical systems up to 480 VAC
- Maintain industrial communication networks (Profinet, Profibus, or similar)
- Configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Occasionally work at heights using scissor or articulating boom lift
- Complete work orders and maintenance documentation using the CMMS
- Communicate equipment issues effectively and work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and contractors
- Follow all LOTO, safety, quality, and food safety requirements
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Associate degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology or related field, or equivalent industrial maintenance experience
- 2+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience
- Experience with Lockout/Tagout/Tryout procedures
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial automation systems
- Experience with Siemens automation (TIA Portal, SIMATIC Manager) preferred; Rockwell experience also acceptable
- Working knowledge of industrial Ethernet and fieldbus networks
- Proficiency with electrical troubleshooting, motor controls, instrumentation, and PID loops
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to work a rotating 2-2-3, 12-hour schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts that produce noise. The employee is also exposed to vehicle traffic (forklift, industrial cart) and must be alert while traveling on the manufacturing floor.
