Job Description Summary:

As a Mobile Engineering Manager on the Mobile Infra & Tools team, you will lead a team of engineers that support Android Mobile SDLC and developer productivity tooling for 40+ domain teams that contribute to the PayPal’s Consumer Mobile application. In this role, you will be responsible for modernizing the Android Mobile SDLC and Android Mobile infrastructure and build tooling to greatly enhance developer productivity. This will be accomplished through technical leadership, managing deliverables, and collaborating across teams and functions. You will use your leadership experience to foster the growth of your team members, improve operations, and cultivate a culture of engineering excellence and consistency across all stages of Android Mobile SDLC from code check-in to releasing App to Google Play Store.

Job Description:

Your day-to-day

  • Lead and mentor team of Mobile DevOps engineers.
  • Understand mobile developer needs and propose solutions to address them.
  • Familiarity with Android build tools – Android Studio, Gradle, Espresso Test Framework.
  • Measure and monitor the SDLC processes to identify bottlenecks.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Plan, execute, and deliver on time and within budget.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with senior mobile engineers on mobile platform and feature development teams.

What do you need to bring

  • At least 7+ years of experience in software development or related field with at least 2 years of experience managing a Mobile Team.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in software development, with a focus on Android Mobile DevOps.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong understanding of tool chain for Android Mobile SDLC and cloud-based infrastructure for Android CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and mobile app development & release processes.
