Purpose

The Digital Content Coordinator oversees all online communications for Landmarks, the public art program of The University of Texas at Austin and part of the College of Fine Arts. The position promotes and builds engagement with Landmarks’ various audiences through the planning, creation, and distribution of digital content across platforms, including Landmarks’ website, social media channels, blog, and digital newsletter.
 

Responsibilities

  • Social Media: Expand Landmarks’ social media presence, followers, and influence. Attract new audiences and foster engagement through dynamic written/photo/video content for Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms. Generate relationships with social media influencers. Develop and implement social media campaigns to support Landmarks’ various initiatives. Ensure successful use of analytics and reporting.

  • Website: Manage Landmarks’ website and ancillary microsites, overseeing all updates and maintenance via Drupal. Generate content to ensure fresh and timely information is posted. Develop content for Landmarks’ blogs. Maintain instructional guides for updating the website and other digital resources. Monitor website performance via Google analytics and provide recommendations for improving usability and accessibility. Ensure that website continually meets ADA requirements.Work with and manage relationships with outside SEO as well as ITS consultants on campus and off. 

  • Digital Assets and Marketing: Manage Landmarks’ digital photo & video archive. Coordinate photography and video needs for Landmarks publications and events. Manage rights and reproduction permissions related to photography and video. Work with graphic designer to develop videos in-house and/or and oversee production of Landmarks videos by outside vendors. Support Deputy Director with production of artist videos, developed with outside vendor. Manage monthly e-newsletter and other online mailings. Post events on university and community calendars. Oversee advertising buys, at the direction of the Deputy Director. Generate media content for grant applications. Work with Development staff to develop and distribute constituent emails & newsletters.

  • General Administration: Manage and mentor Communications Intern. Coordinate outsourced services and invoices for payment. Track and report analytics for digital initiatives and for general PR & marketing strategies. Collect press clippings and maintain clipping archive. Draft select press releases, as assigned. Manage updates to Wikipedia and other sites that contain Landmarks information. Manage Landmarks’ urls, email extensions and signatures. Assist with various projects supporting Landmarks’ marketing, communications, and fundraising initiatives. Other duties as assigned. 

 
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years' experience in communications, information sciences, fine art, art history or related field or any combination of related experience and training

  • Experience managing online communications.

  • Experience managing websites via Content Management Systems; Drupal experience preferred
