The Team:

The Fixed Income Index Calculation and Distribution Team (FI ICAD) within the Global Index Management & Production Group (IMPG). The global team is responsible for the production and management of a wide range of indices covering equities, fixed income, options, futures, commodity, digital assets and economics indices.


Responsibilities and Impact:

An exciting opportunity to join a leading index provider and work with a team of experts in the field of fixed income. You’ll gain exposure to a broad range of fixed income securities and index concepts. As a member of the FI ICAD team, your work will focus on managing day-to-day calculation and dissemination of various fixed income products. The role will allow you to collaborate with global stakeholders, build your skill set and contribute to the reputation and integrity of the S&P Dow Jones Indices. 327717 Analyst, Fixed Income Index Calculation & Distribution (FI ICAD)

The team is primarily responsible for the daily calculation and dissemination of fixed income indices. The role is an essential operational function within Index Management & Production Group (IMPG) and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance and calculation of the fixed income indices within S&P Dow Jones (S&P DJI). The candidate will collaborate with internal teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the covered indices from validating inputs, calculations and corporate events as well as keeping up with market trends

  • Conduct thorough validation of inputs used for index calculation to ensure data integrity, including corporate action analysis, price validation and market data assessment.
  • Perform quality assurance validations to ensure accuracy and integrity of the index values to be distributed to clients
  • Oversee daily operating processes for global indices, investigating system alerts and coordinate with the technology team to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Manage product delivery ensuring timely dissemination of intraday and end-of-day index data to clients and end users.
  • Collaborate with the technology development team to further automate and enhance our system capabilities.
  • Manage and maintain key relationships with other groups within the department and across other departments, particularly Product Management, Client Coverage, Index Services and Technology Teams

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $53,084 to $78,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Mathematics, Economics, IT Finance disciplines
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in a financial services or analytics role, experience working within the fixed income domain would be an advantage
  • Good understanding of financial markets, asset classes and company fundamentals
  • Strong working knowledge in Microsoft products (especially Excel)
  • Analytical, quantitative and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in databases (SQL, Monga) as well as Python and VBA would be beneficial
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities to solve original, non-routine problems in a timely and insightful manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
