The McKinney Manufacturing Engineering department that supports the Surveillance Mission Area division of Raytheon is seeking an engineer for factory production support. The individual must be self-motivated and will work with a cross functional team including engineering, factory management, program management, and operations assembly and test. This position will reside in McKinney, Texas.
The first 3 months will be training and gaining experience with the different Electro-optical Infrared (EOIR) system variants produced in the McKinney, TX Consolidated Manufacturing Center. This is a first shift role (start times can vary between 6am to 9am depending on business conditions) and standard workdays will be Monday through Friday. There will also be occasional weekend work. This is an on-site role in McKinney, Texas.
What You Will Do
Troubleshooting systems failing test or test equipment, identifying failure cause, and dispositioning hardware for repair.
Investigation of failure trends for root cause and implementation of corrective actions.
Operation of mechanical, electrical, and optical test equipment.
Participation in teams tasked with resolving technical issues, improving test yields, and reducing test cycle time.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
Strong technical aptitude as shown by strong grades or hands on experience.
Experience in troubleshooting and fault isolation.
Experience reading mechanical drawings or electrical schematics.
Experience resolving issues with dimensional tolerances or testing and troubleshooting and documenting test results.
Hands on experience building or reworking/repairing using mechanical assembly hand tools (e.g. socket set, ball drivers, torque wrench).
Experience reading or writing to FPGAs such as reading memory maps, scripting, or debugging.
Experience in the use of standard electrical equipment such as an oscilloscope, function generator, power supplies, etc.
Knowledge with common circuit components (Op-Amps, Multiplexers, H-bridge, ADC, DAC, etc.).
Experience with EO/IR systems in a production environment.
The ability to perform complex analysis with minimal guidance.
Experience in designing experiments for troubleshooting and investigations.
Root cause and corrective action experience.
Experience in data analysis for identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
Demonstrated leadership experience.
