Job Duties

The Senior HRIS Analyst is a key member of the Human Resources team, responsible for the strategic management and optimization of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS). This role involves analyzing and configuring HRIS to enhance data integrity, streamline HR processes, and support organizational goals. The analyst will leverage advanced reporting and data analysis to provide insights that inform decision-making and improve employee experiences. Collaborating closely with HR, IT, and other departments, the Senior HRIS Analyst will lead system upgrades, implement process improvements, and ensure compliance with data security regulations. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and effective communication to drive HR initiatives forward.

Responsibilities

System Management: Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of the HRIS, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze HR data to identify trends and provide actionable insights. Develop, generate, and maintain custom reports for various stakeholders.

Process Improvement: Collaborate with HR and other departments to identify opportunities for process improvements within HRIS and develop solutions to enhance efficiency.

User Support & Training: Provide advanced support to HR staff and end-users. Develop training materials and conduct training sessions to enhance user proficiency in HRIS.

Compliance & Security: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and university policies. Implement and monitor security protocols for sensitive employee data.

Project Management: Lead and participate in HRIS-related projects, including system upgrades and integrations, ensuring timely and effective implementation.

Collaboration: Work closely with IT and other departments to troubleshoot issues, implement new technologies, and support system integrations.

Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of HRIS processes, configurations, and system changes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HRIS management or related roles, preferably in a higher education environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, Banner, PeopleSoft) and strong data analysis skills. Experience with SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools is a plus.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Additional Considerations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data migration and system integrations.

• Knowledge of HR best practices and employment law.

• Certification in HRIS or related fields (e.g., PHR, SPHR, HRIP).

• Experience in a higher education environment.

• Certification in HRIS management or related certifications (e.g., SHRM, HRCI).
