The Opportunity 

 

A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Production Manager in Mooresville, IN, on a permanent basis.

This role is responsible for leading and optimizing daily operations within a food manufacturing facility. The manager will assume an active role in leading continuous improvement activities within the entire plant. This role ensures compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards while driving productivity, efficiency, and continuous improvement. The Senior Production Manager provides strategic direction, oversees cross-functional teams, provides leadership development to the team, and collaborates with senior leadership to align plant performance with organizational goals.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and compliance with all food manufacturing regulations (e.g., HACCP, FDA, USDA, GMP).
  • Lead and manage production operations and continuous improvement projects to meet or exceed performance targets.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency and reduce waste through training and application of CI techniques.
  • Oversee staffing, including recruitment, training, development, and performance management.
  • Monitor production metrics and analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure optimal use of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with corporate leadership on budgeting, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and best practices.
  • Maintain effective communication across departments to ensure alignment and accountability.

 

The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Food Science, Engineering, Business Management) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP principles and food safety standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, GMP).
  • Proven leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements and managing change.
  • Proficiency in production planning, data analysis, and performance reporting.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
  • Involves moderate physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
