Description

Position Summary:

The Claims Administrator is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with the intake, review and triage of incident reports, supporting property claims processing, and facilitating accurate data reporting and reconciliation.  This role also provides general administrative support to the Risk Management team, contributing to departmental projects and daily operations as needed.  Over time, the Claims Administrator will be expected to independently manage assigned claims from intake through resolution.  The Claims Administrator must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, strong organization skills, adaptability, and the desire to learn the fundamentals of insurance, claims and risk management.  A successful Claims Administrator is able to manage their time effectively, is detail oriented, a trustworthy team player, and takes pride in their work.  In addition, this position needs to be accountable and attentive to provide excellent customer service skills when interacting with tenants, associates, and vendors.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Claims Team with intake, review, and triage of new incident reports; directs to the appropriate Claims Manager
  • Assists the Property Claims Manager with investigating and collecting information for property claims
  • Support and assists the Property Claims Manager with subrogation claims (obtaining funds from insurance companies that represent at-fault third parties)
  • Assists the Claims Team with processing claims invoices and checks
  • Assists the Claims Team with reporting and data reconciliation 
  • Performs duties as assigned; primarily data entry and tracking, certificate of insurance requests
  • Provide administrative support and assist the department as needed  
  • Participate in departmental projects, process improvements and team initiatives
  • Actively demonstrate the values of the Weidner Customer Service Vision to team members, associates and external customers
  • Actively participate in a positive team environment through teamwork, communication and excellence in service; communicate regularly with the Director of Risk Management

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Previous office administrative experience preferred
  • Prior insurance support experience preferred but not required
  • Inquisitive and eager to learn about insurance, claims and risk management
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Effective communicator with strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates initiative and proactive approach to learning through problem-solving and asking questions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, customers and team members
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and sound judgment
  • Experienced in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products required (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook); Willing and able to learn new software programs
