Position Summary
The DWS Program Manager will serve as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant to ADWS General Counsel and the Legal Office. This position will be responsible for reviewing unemployment benefits overpayment cases and employer tax underpayment cases and assisting attorneys to develop collection actions and criminal fraud cases for referrals to county prosecutors. Assist with the promulgation of rules process. Provide general paralegal services for ADWS legal office and attorneys, including case development, case management ,legal research, drafting of legal documents, contracts, court filings, collection actions, FOIA, subpoenas, etc.
Education and Professional Work Experience
Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in general business, public administration, or a related field; plus, four years of experience in personnel management, program administration, human services, public administration, or a related field, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
Preferred Qualification
- Experience as a paralegal/legal secretary in a fast paced, multi-attorney law firm or government legal office.

- Knowledge of state and federal courts and legal procedures.
- Knowledge of state government operations and procedures.

- Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of state budget procedures.
- Knowledge of specialized DWS program area practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws regulating specialized DWS program areas.
- Ability to plan, organize, and oversee the work of subordinates.
- Ability to evaluate program effectiveness and modify as necessary.
- Ability to interpret and apply federal and state laws and regulations.
- Ability to prepare and present oral and written information and reports.
- Ability to review written reports, recommend corrective action, and oversee compliance investigations.
