PayPal, Inc. seeks MTS 1, Software Engineer in Austin, TX

Job Duties: Design and develop software data architecture to support the next generation of products and data initiatives. Improve, update and advance data operations: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability as part of the overall software architecture. Build and implement scalable and reliable data pipeline architecture to optimize overall performance. Build tools that help users leverage our data into actionable insights to improve our customers’ experiences, operational efficiency, and business performance. Collaborate with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Engineering and Analytics teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure need. Process, extract and manage relational databases and systems such as Hive and Presto, query authoring (SQL) and NoSQL databases. Create large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.

Job Description:

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered, as a Software Engineer, or a related occupation.  

Special Skill Requirements:

(1) Python; 

(2) Java; 

(3) SQL; 

(4) Spark; 

(5) Luigi; 

(6) AWS Cloud Services; 

(7) object-oriented/object function scripting languages; 

(8) data pipelines, architectures and data sets
