- Operate enterprise backup and recovery platforms (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup): job configuration, monitoring, restores, and DR testing.
- Support storage systems: SAN/NAS administration (LUN provisioning, zoning, multipathing) and fibre channel switches (e.g., Brocade/Cisco MDS).
- Support hybrid cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS/GCP) for IaaS compute, storage, networking, and workload migrations.
- Collaborate with DBA teams to support MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase: patching, backup/restore, service availability, and performance basics.
- Execute OS/application patching and upgrades (yum/dnf/apt/Windows Update/WSUS), kernel updates, and hardware/firmware maintenance windows.
- Monitor health and capacity (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Nagios); analyze performance and perform root-cause analysis for incidents.
- Automate routine tasks with Bash/Python/Ansible and PowerShell for Windows; create and maintain repeatable runbooks.
- Harden systems per security baselines (e.g., CIS), manage IAM (AD/LDAP), certificates, encryption, vulnerability remediation, and audit logging.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management (ITIL), including on-call rotations and after-hours maintenance as required.
- Maintain documentation, diagrams, asset inventories, and knowledge articles; mentor peers and share best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on Linux administration in production environments (RHEL/CentOS/Oracle Linux/Ubuntu).
- 2+ years of Windows Server administration (AD/Group Policy, basic roles/features).
- Practical experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi and vCenter.
