The internship program at Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations is intended to provide college / university students and recent graduates the opportunity to use and develop skills they have learned in the classroom by working at our state-of-the-art production facility, and to provide Volkswagen Chattanooga the opportunity to develop talent for potential future entry-level positions.

Summary

Our internships are full-time positions (40 hours/week). Candidates will be expected to be available to work during normal business hours (Monday – Friday; exact hours will vary by position and some positions might require work on Saturdays). To be eligible for the internship program, candidates are required to be enrolled at an accredited post-secondary educational institution or have graduated from one within the 6 months prior to the start date of the internship. Candidates who do not meet our guideline will not be considered. This position will start in August and end in December 2024. 

Responsibilities

Internship position for the Pilot Hall Electric Team.  The primary focus is supporting the Software Update Team in analyzing problems with macros for software updates and implement robustness measurements to improve stable software updates.

•    Writing/Analyzing Software Updates Macros in VBA or Python
•    Create small programs to improve performance or improve reporting and documentation
•    Verification and alignment of actual testing to the inspection scope
•    Writing and reviewing work instructions
•    Analysis of failures with respect to vehicle electrical systems and vehicle data 

Qualifications

Education Required: 2+ years completed towards Electrical Engineering, Electronics related, or Programming 

Skills:

• Advanced in at least 1 programming language
• Self-Starter / able to work independently.

System/programs:

• Python
• Excel VBA
• CAN Databus communication
• Automotive Ethernet

Pay

Pay based on level of education.

Junior $18/hour
Senior $20/hour
Recent Graduate $24/hour
Master's Student $27/hour

2 days of paid time off per term 
Financial assistance for relocation/housing not provided
