As Sr. Software Developer, you will provide sound technical leadership for development, design, and scaling of a new web application positioned to reinvent the insurance market. Your technical skills and knowledge will assist in providing users with the best experience possible while keeping us competitive in the market. In this role, you will not only lead but also operate alongside all development efforts and personnel both internal and external. Through these responsibilities you will bring new life to an organization’s health plan and be a key driver in our internal efficiency. Requirements
- Create elegant solutions to complex problems
- Proven experience in a relevant E.M., lead, or equivalent engineering role
- Understanding of budgets and business-planning
- Ability to conduct technological analyses and research
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership and organizational abilities
- At least 5 years’ experience in SaaS or similar fast paced development environment
- At least 3 years’ experience in insurance or financial technology preferred
- Strategic thinking
- Problem-solving aptitude
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and Sprint best practices
- Knowledgeable with Cloud Technologies (Azure, AWS, Google, etc.)
- Experience with Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Experience with Version Control (Git)
- Experience leading code review for a team of Engineers
- Experience with database architecture design
- Experience with User-story mapping
- Ability to manage a growing team of Engineers
Location
This role is based out of the Milliman office in Omaha, Nebraska, but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US.

Compensation
The overall salary range for this role is $93,700 - $185,400.
For candidates residing in:
- Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the salary range is $103,070 - $169,950.
- New York City, Newark, San Jose, or San Francisco the salary range is $112,440 - $185,400.
- All other locations the salary range is $93,700- $154,500.
A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc.
