POSITION SUMMARY: The Retail Clerk provides customer service, processes payments, and maintains the sales floor.

Standards of Performance and Conduct (each is an essential function):
Ensure actions are consistent with Goodwill ethics, policies, procedures, goals and mission.
Work collaboratively with management and staff to achieve overall organizational goals.
Consistently maintain acceptable levels of productivity while completing assigned retail, customer service, stocking, cashiering, and housekeeping duties accurately and timely.
Punctual and regular in attendance, understanding that time away from work is approved and taken in accordance with established policies.
Perform duties in a manner that promotes a team concept and reflects Goodwill’s mission, philosophy, and core values of accountability, integrity, dignity, diversity, ingenuity, excellence, opportunity and responsibility.
Work in accordance with Goodwill policies, procedures and generally accepted business practices.
Promote a favorable image and works cooperatively with all organization employees, participants, customers and other persons contacted during the course of performing duties.
Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of work; comply with privacy and confidentiality policies.
Attend required safety training and participate in safety drills and exercises.
Safeguard company property, including donated goods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Complete opening activities to include doors, housekeeping, till count, prep of water cooling stations, cash wrap set up, and other activities.
Continuously stock merchandise onto the sales floor in a fast-paced outlet environment.
Sort, rotate, and organize merchandise bins to maintain an efficient shopping experience.
Remove damaged, unsafe, or unsellable items from the sales floor.
Provides all necessary customer service while projecting a positive image during public contact. For instance, greeting customers upon arrival, referring complaints to management, finding specific products for customers, answering routine questions regarding products and store operations. Maintains professional, polite and positive relationship with Customers, Coworkers, and other stakeholders at all times.
Handles cash register functions and transactions including: sales, correct pricing, inventory control, and receipting to customers.
Responsible for cash register accuracy including before and after counts, daily reports and accounting for overages and shortages.
Responsible to perform housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness of donation area, bathroom(s), fitting rooms, and all interior and exterior of the store. This may include, but not be limited to, cleaning bathroom fixtures, walls, floors, completing a 5-minute drill prior to each rest and meal break, recovering garbage or other materials from interior or exterior of the building, sweeping, mopping, and/or vacuuming floors, and other cleaning activities.
Complete closing activities to include doors, housekeeping, till count, cleaning of water cooling stations, sales floor recovery, and other activities.
Responsible for maintaining confidentiality and cooperative working relationships at all times.
Maintains professional, polite, and positive relationships with clients, customers, coworkers, donors, and stakeholders at all times.
Performs necessary record keeping and reporting of money, sales, inventory and production.
Responsible to fulfill production functions such as; receive and process donated goods, direct donors to proper locations and issue receipts and/or printed information.
