Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Software Engineer / Principal Embedded Software Engineer14353. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program.

What You’ll Get To Do:

  • Design, develop, document, test and debug real time embedded software/system simulation.
  • Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of embedded systems for safety and mission critical software.
  • Ensure program mandated software standards and compliance criteria are met.
  • Understand and can develop in a continuous integration tool chain environment meeting technical and compliance requirements.
  • Identify, analyze, and adjudicate software deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with a team of software engineers in an Agile environment to meet critical milestones.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications: 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

Level 2 (T2): 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters; 0 Year with PhD, 4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree

Level 3 (T3):5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Years with PhD, 4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree

- Must be a US Citizen and have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret Security clearance at time of application, current and within scope; Ability to obtain Program Special Access

- 2+ year experience in developing software/writing code in C/C++/C#, Python, Java, or similar programming language

- 2+ year experience in object-oriented programming and design patterns, hardware/software communication interfaces, real-time and post processing data analytics

- 2+ years of full life cycle of software development and Agile software development

- Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of developing software for a hard real-time system
  • Experience with Real Time Component Framework (RTCF)
  • Experience developing missile flight systems software
  • Experience developing software for a hard real time system or hardware devices
  • Experience architecting/designing and/or developing software applications for flight system
  • Able to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans and then execute those plans
  • Familiarity with security coding standard best practices, static and dynamic scanning tools, i.e., SonarQube, Fortify, Coverity,
