Job Description:
PATIENT POPULATION:
The patient population served can be all patients, including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn. This also includes services which affect facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors and the general public.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Director of Surgical Services and in collaboration with the Clinical Manager, the Business Operations Manager independently will develop, evaluate, and maintain creative, progressive, internal documentation and external reports to support the operational and strategic needs of the hospital. In addition, the
incumbent will work collaboratively with co-workers and members of other departments to investigate and respond by telephone or in writing to a variety of quality/financial/revenue issues. Responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing strategies for cost management and revenue maximization. Performs rigorous and systematic analysis of quality, revenue, and supply data; monitoring and analysis of clinical and non-clinical data; attend regularly scheduled meetings; design and implement data collection tools.
Collaborates with the Department Director to provide 24-hour, 7-day/week management oversight of the following departments: OR, Flexcare, PACU, Central Processing Department, Cardiac Cath Lab, Endoscopy and Ambulatory Surgical sites. Plans and replaces capital equipment within the division. Forecasts and adheres to the capital acquisition plan ensuring capital equipment is purchased within the timeline outlined by Finance.Will be responsible for ensuring the department and all individuals in the department achieve the vision and clinical, operational and financial needs of patients. Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs. "
Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. As a designated disaster service worker you are required to assist in times of need pursuant to the California Emergency Services Act.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have evidence of leadership skills, successful interpersonal relations, and accepting increased responsibility in Supervision, Administration, and Education. Two (2) years healthcare business administration or operations required. Must be able to demonstrate management and leadership role with broad governance and supervision of direct reports for at least 2 years. Bachelors degree in healthcare administration, business administration, finance or a related field required.
Knowledge of medical terminology, spherically procedures. EMR reporting capabilities, Meditec preferred. Experience in data analysis and visualization methods preferred.
Effective oral and written communication skills are integral to the position.
