OVERVIEW:
The Senior Director of Evernorth Health Systems Services Technology is responsible for overseeing all aspects of software technology delivery and product & planning for our Coverage Review and Population Health technology organizations. The position plays a crucial role in optimizing resources, developing team members, and collaborating closely with business leaders by attending their staff meetings. Additionally, it involves increasing the knowledge base and identifying and maximizing synergistic opportunities across PBS, CRD & PHO.
The CRD/PHO Technology Senior Director will be an innovator, problem-solver within an evolving technology organization and have the ability to lead the team in an exciting and challenging area where we expect large growth within our growing CIGNA and EVERNORTH footprint.
This opportunity will allow for the candidate to be able to think strategically, work cross functionally with all teams across the enterprise and provide the ability to influence and drive change within our overall organization. The leader will be set both short-term and long-term vision while collaborating with multiple technology, operational, security, audit, and business development partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cultivate, engage and empower engineering teams that are aligned around the core business and technology strategies for the CRD & PHO organization; Conveys business and technical strategic vision for the team.
Ensure holistic ownership and accountability for technology products and delivery, including Complete end-to-end knowledge of product ecosystem, business transactions, system flow, architecture, upstream and downstream dependencies and automation capabilities & opportunities.
Define staffing strategy for the product domain including budget planning; executing performance reviews and development plans for staff; recognizing technical and leadership development opportunities and addressing them through mentoring and other mechanisms.
Establish a team in the Hyderabad Innovation Center and/or Ireland to reduce dependencies on external vendors and to foster innovation to service the CRD & PHO Business.
Influence business partners at all levels of the organization to align future state business and technical road maps. Collaborate with operations, sales, finance and all other business unit leaders.
Ensure future destination state architecture and road maps are complete, consistent and feasible; Define business cases and influencing support for large, transformative technology investments.
Complete understanding of total cost of ownership; Must meet budget and partner with finance.
Develop relationships and negotiates with vendors providing software engineering, development and related services to the Company.
Deliver through team; using delegation effectively to ensure all domain obligations are met and serve as an engineering technical champion to drive technical decisions.
Collaborate cross-functionally within the larger technology organization, strengthening connections and aligning processes and expectations to more strongly connect CRD & PHO team with the enterprise technology organization.
Apply knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization’s goals.
Develop strong matrix relationships with business partners, architects, engineering teams, product managers and quality engineering to operate efficiently and strategically in delivery of world-class solutions that are performance, scalable, reliable, resilient and secure.
Ensure applications are designed and constructed using solid engineering patterns to achieve destination state vision, with an emphasis on resiliency.
Encourage innovation and diversity of thought to solve complex business problems; Proactively seek automation opportunities and introduce AI solutions
Remove impediments to achieve quality standards, project deadlines and business objectives.
Advocate for emerging software engineering, EN portfolio management practices, and agile best practices and methodologies.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
Healthcare domain knowledge.
12-14 relevant year of working experience, including people management, in the pharmacy or distribution industry highly preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Solid analytical skills, highly organized, self-motivated and a quick learner.
Flexible and willing to accept change in priorities as necessary
