Senior Chemist

Brady Corp is seeking a Senior Chemist who will be a highly influential and visible member of the Materials R&D department with responsibility for providing hands-on research expertise to develop new products through commercial launch and support existing products. This individual will also provide mentorship to junior R&D staff. Technical areas of focus will be in pressure sensitive adhesives, topcoats and inks, and other associated technologies.

• Lead and supervise research projects that deliver business results.
• Work within and/or lead multiple cross functional teams to enable new product development project success.
• Lead various project activities through a defined stage gate process.
• Identify & explore new technologies in material design or process for future application to Brady operations and/or target markets.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate and optimize the performance attributes of these technologies.
• Develop an understanding of structure-property relationships for technologies in material design. 
• Assist in design for manufacturability and scale-up activities. 
• Actively research and identify relevant intellectual property and patentable inventions. 
• Assure and validate proper documentation of responsible technical and experimental activities.
