The primary areas of responsibility will be the development and improvement of Infrastructure as Code and Deployment Automation code as well as the support of the CICD activities for the product development team. </p> <p>This role will establish goals and objectives for the teams’ work products and be seen as an expert in many of the job skills required.  They will be a leader in defining strategy for the full DevOps lifecycle for the deployment of both on-premises and cloud-based environments along with a continual process improvement model. They will help develop other team members skills and knowledge in the departmental functions. They will communicate openly with other senior level colleagues and will be seen as a leader of the DevOps process for the company. Throughout this activity they will champion best practice methodologies and help lead the DevOps team to increase efficiency and minimize complexity and delays. </p><h2><b>Responsibilities</b></h2> <p> </p> <p>System Automation &amp; Deployments</p> <p>Developing the Automation strategy, goals and objectives; this role will:</p> <ul> <li>Work to establish and continually improve the Automation strategy and Automation procedures used to build, test, deploy and monitor system environments in AWS cloud and on-premises domains.</li> <li>Mentor Automation Engineering team members on their development responsibilities and understanding the full Automation strategy and continual improvement model.</li> <li>Ensure that the Automation products are well architected to ensure a high level of consistency and efficiency.</li> </ul> <p>Infrastructure as Code </p> <p>Develop the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategy, goals and objectives; this role will:</p> <ul> <li>Work to establish and continually improve the IaC strategy and procedures used to build, test, deploy and automate infrastructure deployments in AWS cloud and on-premises domains.</li> <li>Mentor Engineering team members on their development responsibilities and understanding the full IaC strategy and continual improvement model.</li> <li>Ensure that the IaC products are well architected to ensure a high level of consistency and efficiency.</li> </ul> <p>CICD Support</p> <p>Manage the CICD support strategy, goals and activities; this role will:</p> <ul> <li>Monitor the support requests on the CICD activity and task the support engineers with resolving all issues</li> <li>Coordinate and escalate critical, high impactful issues to quick resolution</li> <li>Manage a continual improvement program to reduce issues and improve resolution times</li> </ul> <p>General Governance Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Champion and enforce compliance with the IGT DevOps Engineering procedures and documentation requirements</li> <li>Advise the product development group on issues and enhancements that would benefit the product </li> <li>Openly communicate to DevOps team members on skills, activities, issues, and recommended improvements</li> <li>Work with organizational counterparts on continual improvement programs, effective communication and efficient working relationships</li> <li> </li> </ul><h2><b>Qualifications</b></h2> <p> </p> <p>Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Science Degree with additional Education/Training or equivalent experience. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a CICD, Infrastructure as Code, or AWS DevOps related field and an expert understanding of current DevOps principals and best practices.</p> <p>Candidates must also have proven experience in a technical field including many of the following:  AWS Cloud deployments, Container Administration, CI/CD tools and methods, Configuration Management tools and methods, Version control tools &amp; methods. </p> <p> </p> <p>Practical experience and skills with many of the following: </p> <ul>
