Enterprise Services is looking for a Principal Accountant.

This role will allow for telework, but eligible candidates must be located near Northrop Grumman's Irving, TX.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports
  • Maintains or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.
  • Amending Federal Tax returns as assigned
  • Amending State Income tax returns as assigned
  • Amend State Unemployment returns as assigned
  • Amend Local returns as assigned
  • Submitting W-2 corrections to federal and state entities and filing amended returns
  • Applying for state and unemployment withholding account by legal entity as needed
  • Ensuring compliance for timely and accurate reporting of all payroll taxes.
  • Assisting in maintaining the federal, state and local quarterly payroll deductions to tax payment reconciliations
  • Creating and filing the employee and employer federal, state and local payroll tax reporting and payments for amendments as filed
  • Tracking refunds based on amendments filed
  • Coding returned checks for deposit and GL postings
  • Maintaining changes in unemployment rates on ADP Smart Compliance
  • Maintaining states by entity information on ADP Smart Compliance
  • Reporting headcount to the Federal and State departments of labor
  • Responding to federal and state tax and wage inquiries
  • Researching and responding to Case workflow email notices for employee work and home address combinations
  • Reconciling tax reporting and payments made throughout the calendar year to the W-2 file
  • Assisting with the Analyzing merger, divestiture and acquisition activity, for tax entity impacts  and implementing resulting actions as needed
  • Assisting with the reconciling of tax accounts with Payroll Tax Accounting personnel and ability to analyze and take correction actions as necessary.
  • Payroll tax electronic and paper record retention according to company and department policy, including filing.
  • Assisting with International tax filings and research as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • 6 Years of experience with Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field OR 4 Years of experience with Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field OR 8+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) [1 year completion requirement]
  • Certified Payroll Professional Certification (CPP) [18 months after obtaining FPC requirement]
  • 4 years of payroll tax experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field with OR 4 years of relevant experience with Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • CPP certification

Salary Range: $79,100.00 - $118,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
