Job Function

Reporting into the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for managing global cash, foreign currencies, external debt, interest rate hedging, leases, general ledger, account reconciliations, closing process, along with other key general accounting management duties.  This corporate position will report to the Accounting Director and will provide leadership to manage a team of 2+ Staff/Senior Accountants.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve journal entries
• Work with external auditors providing requested documentation and explaining balances and transactions
• Develop process improvements in accounting activities
• Responsible for ensuring that all assigned accounts are reconciled in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting principles
• Identify and Implement improvements to the cash process
• Oversight of global cash in entities which have multiple functional currencies and foreign transactions
• Develop and implement Policies and Procedures related to internal control
• Hands-on worker and very detail oriented
• Responsible for multiple statutory audits
• Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while adhering to internal deadlines
• Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing process
   

Additional Responsibilities & Duties

Directly supervises 2 employees in accounting. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting/finance
• Minimum of 5+ years of related experience
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and organization skills
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Experience in international accounting and foreign currency transactions
• Experience using integrated ERP systems, SAP and IFS a plus
• Proficient using Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills

Preferred Experience

• Active CPA license or equivalent
• Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
• Manufacturing industry experience
