What You’ll Do
As Accounting Manager, you'll play a crucial role in helping our finance team in executing accounting responsibilities with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. You will be collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and our accounting close cycle to ensure we meet our reporting deadlines. This position offers an opportunity to come in and make an immediate impact by optimizing and enhancing efficiencies in our accounting processes. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you’ll work closely with the Finance team and internal stakeholders to support the company’s finance objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage the month end close process which includes preparing month-end deliverables, including balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entries, financial statements and related variance analysis.
- Prepare and file reporting needs such as end-of-year 1099, and WCB for Canadian operations
- Collaborate with the assistant controller in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
- Support the assistant controller and senior management in special projects, ad hoc analyses, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Assist with external audit and coordinating audit activities
- Manage all aspects general ledger accounting, data integrity and accuracy of data input and integrations.
- Collaborate with internal departments to provide financial guidance, resolve issues, and support cross-functional initiatives.
- Managing accounts payable functions, including coordinating with vendors and ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, ensuring proper coding in accounting system
- Assist with state tax filings, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations
- Coordinate with external tax advisors as necessary to prepare and review state tax returns.
Who You Are
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial principles
- Proficiency with accounting software (eg. QBO, Netsuite) and Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying an
