Job Title:  Accounting Manager

Department & Team:  Finance, Royalties & Referral Team

Reports to:  Senior Manager, Technical Accounting

Location:  Remote (Outside of California Bay Area)

Background:

Genesys is looking for an Accounting Manager to join the team.  The Manager must be a self-starter, a clear communicator, highly analytical and understand basic programming.  They are a player-coach who leads through example and is willing to roll-up sleeves to address problems and devise solutions.  The ideal candidate is highly analytical, extremely detail-oriented, accurate in the handling of large amounts of data and has experience with basic programming on programs such as Tableau Prep or Alteryx.

Essential Job Functions:

The primary responsibility for this role includes, but are not limited to:

• Prepare monthly accrual entries for various referral and partner programs and make payments to those partners or reconcile cash received from various partners

• Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close activities related to referrals and royalties

• Support and maintain coding for referrals and royalties in a program like Tableau Prep or Alteryx

• Research and answer referral or royalty questions from partners

• Research and prepare balance sheet and P&L variance analyses to explain movement and/or look for abnormalities that require investigation

• Prepare and review quarterly royalty reporting for partners

• Review & manage royalty and referral team

• Assist with external audit requests

• Assist with Ad Hoc projects for referrals as needed

• Develop and maintain business partnerships with Finance, Sales and Partner Development

• Support the Senior Manager, Technical Accounting on projects

Minimum Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in a finance role with general ledger experience

• Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data management programs such as Tableau Prep or Alteryx

• Experience with large ERP systems

• Experience with Salesforce.com

• Work flexible hours as necessary

• Ability to work independently and be resourceful

• Superior problem solving, analytical and technical programming skills

• Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment

• Comfortable partnering and engaging with cross-functional teams

• Extreme attention to details; ability to think quickly; ability to multi-task

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal & written) with willingness to appropriately debate difficult issues

Work Context:

• Communicates regularly with various teams and departments, including management

• Uses computer frequently

• Works expanded hours/shifts to support Senior Manager, Technical Accounting

Compensation:

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.  

$87,100.00 - $170,900.00
