About the role:

Boston Scientific’s Cardiology Finance and Accounting Group is looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team. In this role you will be engaged in daily business management, providing meaningful insight to fuel the growth of the division. As an Accounting Manager, you will spend time supervising general accounting activities and providing direct leadership to Accounting staff within the areas of Inventory Accounting, Warranty, and Internal Controls/Reporting. You will be a trusted finance leader helping to drive critical business decisions and strategic planning.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing critical accounting processes across divisional groups with a focus on finished goods inventory and warranty 
  • Establishing and communicating accounting policies by maintaining a thorough understanding of GAAP and new accounting guidance 
  • Performing and reviewing month-end close processes such as manual journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger reporting
  • Working closely with Supply Chain, Field Inventory, and franchise teams to monitor inventory risks and opportunities. Additionally, assisting with product lifecycle planning and launch execution
  • Supporting annual operating plan and interim forecast cycles
  • Overseeing SOX compliance activities and facilitating regular risk assessment procedures. Additionally, maintaining SOX documentation over control activities, business process narratives, key IT systems, and management testing results
  • Directing the development and implementation of new internal controls and procedures as needed
  • Strengthening reporting capabilities over consolidated balance sheet information and quarterly disclosures
  • Assisting in annual inventory count planning and execution
  • Supporting internal and external audits
  • Participating in ongoing system implementation projects
  • Taking an active interest in seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and standardizing processes
  • Providing direct leadership to Accounting staff by managing performance, setting goals, and supporting with ongoing coaching

 

What we're looking for:
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of progressive experience with a public accounting firm, or combined experience with a large, complex multi-national company

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active CPA license
  • Strong integrity, team player
  • Highly developed customer relationship and communication skills
  • Critical thinker
  • Ability to research, understand, and summarize the flow of data through multiple systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications; SAP and Hyperion experience a plus
  • Prior people leadership experience a plus
