We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team in a floater role. The Accounting Clerk will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting processes, with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP), travel expense reports, and payroll administration.
Key Responsibilities may include:
- Process incoming invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established guidelines.
- Match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices to facilitate timely payment.
- Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Review and audit employee travel and expense reports for compliance with company policies and federal regulations.
- Ensure timely reimbursement of valid expenses.
- Assist employees with inquiries related to travel and expense reports.
- Assist in the preparation and processing of employee payroll.
- Maintain payroll records and employee data.
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll and deductions.
- Provide support for month-end and year-end financial closings.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Assist in financial reporting and audits as needed.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent or associate degree.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Prior experience in a federal contracting environment is a plus.
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
