Arcadis has been selected by the Gateway Development Commission (GDC) to serve as a Project Delivery Partner (PDP) in connection with the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP).  We are seeking to engage with potential new colleagues who are excited by this opportunity and who would like to join our locally based teams in New York and in New Jersey. We are seeking an Accounting Analyst to support the program.

Role description:

As an Accounting Analyst specializing in Accounts Payable, you will be responsible for managing and streamlining the accounts payable process. You will work closely with vendors, process invoices, handle purchase orders, and ensure accurate financial reporting using SAGE accounting software. Your role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency of our financial operations and ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Role accountabilities:

  • Review and verify invoices for accuracy, ensuring they align with purchase orders and receipts.
  • Manage and schedule payments to vendors, ensuring timely processing and effective cash flow management.
  • Reconcile AP records with vendor statements and internal records to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Generate invoices for services or products provided, ensuring all relevant details are included.
  • Send invoices to clients or customers and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Monitor invoicing status to ensure timely payments and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Create and manage POs to ensure they align with company policies and vendor agreements.
  • Ensure POs go through the proper approval channels before processing.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding order fulfillment and resolve any issues related to purchase orders.
  • Handle various payment methods (e.g., electronic transfers, checks) and ensure they are executed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for timely payments and manage any potential cash flow issues.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in accounts payable, invoicing, and purchase orders.
  • Experience with SAGE accounting software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000.
