The Accountant, Treasury Operations is responsible for day-to-day activity relating to treasury operations, cash accounting, cash management and account reconciliations. The Accountant will support the Treasury Manager primarily by balancing and reconciling daily cash activity between the bank and our ERP system. The candidate may also assist in preparation of cash forecasts for the enterprise, monitoring daily cash inflows and outflows in the Treasury Management System (TMS) and preparing cash transfers in the TMS.
This is a key role within the organization. This individual will have direct visibility with members of the Enterprise Finance Team. The applicant must be highly motivated and demonstrate an ability to learn and apply concepts quickly. The applicant for this position must also have strong analytical skills.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Prepare and review accounting journal entries and ledger account reconciliations
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
• Use the Company’s Treasury Management system, ERP system and various banking portals
• Prepare daily Treasury payments
• Monitor daily cash balances and funding needs for the Enterprise
• Enterprise cash forecasting and review
• Assist with the administration and accounting for the Company’s Intercompany Lending and Cash Pooling program
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of bank fee budgets and forecasts
• Participate in the implementation of current and future Treasury and Finance systems
• Perform other ad hoc tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Education
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
• 1-2 years of related experience preferred
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Proficient personal computer skills including MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, etc.
