Responsibilities
We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant that will provide day-to-day financial support on a corporate level for Old National Bank and its affiliates. The scope of activity includes but is not limited to responsibilities related to the monthly and quarterly close. This includes preparation and review of various journal entries and account reconciliations, the analysis of the Company’s financial statements, and the review and preparation of ad hoc reports as needed.
The Senior Accountant will work with all areas of the bank, including the staff and management in Accounting, Finance, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Financial Analysis, and Tax, as well as interfacing with Loan Operations and Deposit Operations.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $44,700 - $101,500 per year. Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, qualifications and the career level at which the position is filled.
Although we prefer to hire a candidate with the skills and qualifications of a Senior level, we are open to considering candidates with the skill set and experience that would be more aligned with a Staff Accountant position.
Key Accountabilities
- Support monthly and quarterly closing process
- Responsible for the completion of account reconciliations and ensuring that stale outstanding items are cleared timely
- Complete account analysis on accounts/tasks
- Identify and implement process improvement
- Fulfillment of various ad-hoc reporting requests from other departments and managers
- Fulfillment of periodic reporting/data requests for other departments, auditor requests, etc.
- Assist with the compliance and documentation of SOX controls
- Support the budget process as requested

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA preferred
- 3-5 years accounting experience in banking or related industry
- Must understand complex accounting transactions and apply GAAP standards
- Ability to clearly communicate (verbal and written) accounting issues to management, auditors and other staff
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities / projects under tight timeframes
- Advanced PC skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access)
- Strong attention to detail
