About the Finance & Legal team:
Formic provides robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) and the Finance & Legal team is a key part of providing the “as-a-service” part of RaaS. The Finance & Legal team is part of the foundational infrastructure of RaaS–think the wiring, plumbing or framing of a house that is not seen, but is a critical part of making the house stand, last and function properly. The Finance & Legal team is responsible for financial operations; treasury and finance; accounting; credit; legal; compliance; and customer contracting and financial servicing.
As an Accountant, you will assist with the daily operations of our Accounting & Finance Teams. This individual will be working closely with our Assistant Controller and Director of Accounting and FP&A to support the timely and accurate closing of our books and financial reports. This role will be ever-changing and will require being flexible and open-minded, while being detail-oriented and capable of helping create accounting processes for a fast-growing company. The ideal candidate is located in, or would be open to relocation to, Los Angeles, CA; Baton Rouge, LA; Charlotte, NC. Candidates not located in or able to relocate to any of those cities will also be considered depending on experience and capabilities.
Duties would include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Code transactions and payables by account, project, etc.
- Manage credit card receipt coding, tracking down missing expense information, data accuracy, and miscellaneous credit card reporting as needed
- Manage accounts payables and maintaining records of vendor relations and statuses, which includes managing ProcureDesk (our purchase order platform) and initiating vendor payments
- Match bank transactions to accounting system transactions daily
- Invoicing as necessary, including creating templates for recurring invoices
- Work with the Accounting Team to close the company’s books, including owning month end journal/account reconciliations and entries
- Manage expense reimbursements approvals, including reviewing for accuracy and project coding
- Support tax preparation and assist with annual audit Performing miscellaneous financial request and analysis as needed
What makes you a great fit:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience), with a CPA license as a bonus
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, SaaS experience as a bonus
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, and accounting GL systems
- Excellent knowledge of GAAP
- Understanding of both financial and operational controls
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to be flexible and comfortable with ever-changing environments
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and work with minimal oversight
