About the role
A Day in the Life:
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial data, in order to capture the company's financial health and performance. You will use your skills to identify trends, patterns, and insights that will help scale the business.
Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing lease accounting schedules under ASC 842, Lease Accounting Standard.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepares internal and external reports by gathering and analyzing information from the payables and general ledger systems, landlords, and from other related departments.
- · Reconcile accounts with landlords and research payment discrepancies.
- · Work with real estate team to update payment terms.
- · Review lease agreements for preparation of lease accounting schedules under ASC 842.
- · Analyze and verify information and options by developing spreadsheet reports.
- · Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files and reconciling accounts.
- · Answer accounting and financial questions related to lease and concession payments by researching and interpreting data.
- · Assist with other special projects as requested by management.
- · Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- · Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed
- We expect the starting salary to be around $50,000; the actual salary will be determined based on years of relevant work experience.
What We’re Looking For:
- 0-3 years Accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locations
- Ability to influence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Results driven, ability to make decisions and help solve problems
- Ability to work under minimal supervision with a goal-oriented mindset.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Word/Access)
