Job Description Summary
The Director for Strategic Sponsorships will join a dynamic team of fundraising professionals devoted to advancing the mission and vision of Ringling College of Art and Design and all of its programs, including Sarasota Art Museum, Town Hall Lecture Series, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Ringling College Galleries and Exhibitions and Englewood Art Center. A key member of the Advancement team, the Director for Strategic Sponsorships reports to the Vice President for Advancement and is responsible for cultivating and engaging new prospects and donors through a robust arts and culture platform and special events program of Ringling College of Art and Design. This position ensures that prospects and donors are educated, informed and engaged in programs of Ringling College of Art and Design. The Director of Strategic Sponsorships will be a key strategist in the development of donor cultivation events, fundraising events and sponsorship solicitation for programs and events. This position will participate in strategic planning for a multi-year fundraising and communications plan for the Office of Advancement.Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising
- Develop and deliver strategic sponsorships for programs and events across a robust platform of special programs and events at Ringling College of Art and Design.
- Build on the strengths of an existing fundraising platform to engage new prospects and secure sponsors/donors for programs and events.
- Drive mid-level fundraising efforts through sponsorships that lead to new prospects and donors to support fundraising programs and special events.
- Enthusiastically interact with constituents and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects.
- Support the event management team in the execution of advancement events.
Donor Management
- Work with Advancement Services to develop an integrated donor/prospect plan to complement current fundraising, cultivation and donor engagement events.
- Build a moves management program for mid-level prospects and donors and work with Advancement Services to track event attendance and fundraising metrics for event attendees across multiple fundraising, cultivation and donor engagement events.
- Engage in annual planning process to grow the donor prospect pool and develop sponsorship programs for fundraising, cultivation and engagement events.
- Improve the sponsor experience by ensuring that sponsors and donors receive regular communications to achieve donor engagement goals, and build donor loyalty and retention.
- Recognize donors/sponsors appropriately, in accordance with sponsorship agreements, which may include recognition opportunities, mentions in reports and publications and acknowledgement at events and in digital platforms.
- Manage and oversee engagements and events, which includes, but not limited to, annual planning and budgeting, collaboration with consultants and vendors, coordination of communication project timelines, content development and list management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to complete job duties, projects and assignments with general supervision.
- Demonstrated proficiency in writing, creating content and developing event programs.
- Demonstrated competence in conducting research and managing data in a CRM platform.
- Strong decision-making abilities and accuracy with financial records, personal information and gift data.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to effectively track and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficient in data entry, word processing and using automated spreadsheets, with a strong understanding of database protocols.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal, customer service and human relations skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse personality types.
- Maintain composure under pressure from multiple demands.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
- Apply reasoning skills to make informed and intelligent decisions while also adhering to college policy and professional protocol.
- Knowledge of modern office practices, policies and procedures including typing, filing, copying, faxing, email and telephone etiquette.
- Must present a professional appearance.
- Work a flexible schedule as business necessitates.
