Your Impact

On the Real Time Operations (RTO) Fusus Backend team, we are working on building a scalable, performant distributed backend system that will support the exponentially accelerating adoption of the Axon Fusus product as the go-to real-time crime center platform. We are building a team that delivers scalable solutions that work across millions of customer devices and thousands of partner accounts to enable critical workflows for our customers. The Fusus BE system is at the core and a critical part of the Axon Fusus eco-system and supports everything from Cameras, Drones, Vehicle Location, License Plate Readers, Record Management Systems (RMS), Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, and much more.

As a Software Engineer, you’ll work closely with other software engineers, product managers, and designers to ensure the solutions we deliver are highly scalable, performant and always available for our customers. You’ll work with other Fusus teams as you lead the implementation of new features that help shape future architecture of Fusus. You are an avid contributor to the team culture and engineering processes.

What You’ll Do

Location: This role is based out of our Seattle, WA office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. • Build complex scaling and performant solutions within the Axon Fusus platform
• Work across teams with Product, Design, and Engineering to create always available features that delight our customers
• Contribute to the technical roadmap for Fusus backend
• Contribute to the engineering architecture and design reviews
• Contribute to a high technical bar for the team through code and architecture design reviews
• Mentor and grow junior engineers on the squad
• Improve our Engineering process, including long-term thinking, sprint planning and stand-ups
• Building services that adhere to our high bar on availability and latency in this mission-critical space
• Leverage AI to bring about efficiency in out solutions.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years of experience with Python software development
• 3+ years of experience developing software using Django
• Experience designing and delivering highly-available, scalable cloud-based systems
• Backend service experience in multiple, managed languages such as Python, Java, Go, C#, or similar
• Experience working with SQL or NoSQL data stores
• Experience with realtime streaming event log or messaging technologies, such as Kafka or ActiveMQ
• Experience working with cloud based APIs and infrastructure
• Experience with AWS / Azure services and technologies
• Experience building cloud based integration solutions
