How will you make an impact in this role?
Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) is a core enterprise capability that powers American Express. ETS designs, builds, and operates the technology platforms and services that enable secure, reliable, and scalable experiences for customers and colleagues across the company.
ETS Finance partners with Technology leaders to provide financial insight, analytics, and oversight that support strong execution and informed decision making. Technology Operations Finance is part of ETS Finance and partners closely with Technology Operations leaders to support the financial management of day to day technology operations. The team focuses on providing financial decision support, analytics, and transparency to help leaders manage costs, capacity, and performance across a complex operating environment.
This role will be key in providing financial decision support, key analytics, strategic oversight, and reporting for a multitude of critical priorities while building a strong partnership across Technology Operations.
Key responsibilities include:
•    Support Technology CIO, Tech Finance CFO, and Tech Ops LFO teams, developing the narrative for month end-close, Annual Plan and Long-Range Plan.
•    Develop insightful executive-level materials (presentations, narratives, and business cases) for senior stakeholders in both Technology and Finance.
•    Identify risks, interdependencies, and tradeoffs across Technology Operations and recommend mitigation strategies and course corrections.
•    Work across a matrix of stakeholders – Technology, Finance, Product teams, etc. to ensure proper change management, adoption of new strategies and financial alignment.
•    Lead and support high-priority strategic initiatives that advance the Technology Operations organization’s long-term vision and enterprise goals, ensuring financial feasibility and cost performance.
•    Create and support Tech Ops Colleague headcount modeling with focus on forward-looking modeling / analytics to appropriately incorporate headcount metrics such as attrition, contractor conversions, open roles, etc.
•    Provide thought leadership on technology trends, operating models, and organizational effectiveness to inform strategic decision-making.
•    Perform strategic ad-hoc analyses and research to turn data into insightful information / KPIs to drive business decisions.
•    Lead and develop a Manager and Senior Financial Analyst, providing both career guidance and constructive reviews on work products.
Minimum Qualifications:
•    Minimum 7+ years of Finance or equivalent experience
•    Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills
•    Passion for developing and driving partnerships across multiple functions within the Enterprise
•    Excellent communication skills / Executive presence: ability to distill financial data into clear and concise insights
•    Robust technical skills to synthesize large amounts of complex data with the ability to draw key conclusions
•    Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities effectively and drive results while meeting critical deadlines
•    Proficiency in Microsoft suite required (Advanced Excel skills preferred); IBM Cognos TM1 and
