Senior Accountant
Senior Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated self-starter who is ready to make an impact on a dynamic and rapidly growing organization. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will primarily be responsible for providing support throughout the monthly financial statement close process and ad hoc financial projects. The Senior Accountant should be a highly motivated and organized individual with strong attention to detail, a sound understanding of accounting, financial reporting and internal controls, prioritization skills and a focus on client service.
Responsibilities:

Perform and assist with month-end and quarter close accounting tasks including preparation of journal entries and monthly reconciliations (i.e, cash, fixed assets, prepaids, ROU/lease liabilities, clinical accruals, equity, and other accounts as appropriate)

Ensure that reconciliations, supporting schedules and analysis are completed on a timely basis and in accordance with the month-end close schedule

Manage accounting entries and processes for additional US subsidiaries

Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules for US site locations

Prepare with internal and external reporting requirements and analyses

Collaborate with German colleagues to resolve technical accounting issues, including leases, adoption of new standards, and general corporate accounting matters, especially as they relate to disclosure requirements

Assist in streamlining of financial systems and implementation of systems when needed

Partner with the Accounting Manager to refine the monthly the monthly close process and reporting, potential systems implementations, and other related efforts

Ensure responsibilities performed in accordance with relevant accounting rules, SOX, and internal control requirements

Perform Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis

Assist with year-end audit requested including but not limited to financial statement audit and tax provision

Assist in the training and development of staff accountant

Led Bi-Weekly New Hire onboarding for Finance and Legal Process

Other tasks and ad hoc projects
Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, 5 plus years of experience in accounting, working for a public company.

Knowledge of US GAAP (IFRS a plus) and relevant accounting and financial concepts

Experience with an integrated ERP system

Prior experience and expertise in working with financial software such as Oracle or SAP

Must be able to work in a dynamic team environment;

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal)

Collaborative and consultative team player who can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
Preferred requirements: Prior accounting experience in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology, or related industry
