About the role

The Interim Digital Services Manager will advance and support the adoption of digital technologies by overseeing all aspects of the Digital Services Portfolio within the sales area in line with the strategic objectives of becoming a leader in and customers first choice of digital solutions.

This is an 18 month interim role.

Objectives

  • Enhance experience of digital services delivery
  • Develop and implement a strategy to manage, grow, and support the Sandvik Parts and Services Digital Services portfolio
  • Increase revenue of Digital Services Portfolio
  • Provide leadership for and motivate the Digital Services Team
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation of Digital Services portfolio
  • Align support of associated digital solutions
  • Ensure development and delivery of portfolio is done in line with Sandvik Core Values and Strategy

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as main point of contact between the digital services portfolio team and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide logistical and strategic oversight and guidance for the full digital services portfolio. 
  • Supporting the Parts and Services Sales Representatives, Account Managers, Sales and Operations Teams in the understanding, sales, and delivery of digital services offerings and associated hardware
  • Oversee development of marketing and training programs, working closely with Parts and Services Team from the PA to ensure strategic alignment
  • Assess market opportunities, customer needs and perceptions in line with the product and support programs for mining and construction customers
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of competitive product offerings and trends in mining and other industries
  • Identify gap opportunities and define what Parts and Services product offerings can be used to gain incremental market penetration
  • Identify opportunities where digital solutions can support business initiatives
  • Develop support plans for Digital Service Offerings and associated digital solutions
  • Drive growth and maintain connectivity of Sandvik connected assets
  • Manage the introduction of new portfolio offerings
  • Align and communicate pricing for each offering in line with pricing guidelines
  • Managing changes and updates to portfolio specifications after initial introduction with Sales Areas
  • Routinely visit customers to understand needs, maintain relationships, and aid in adoption and sales of offerings
  • Support the Sales Team with technical input, inquiries, proposal creation, price, and issue resolution
  • Define and regularly report on KPI’s for Digital Services Portfolio
  • Maintain and report financial information for the Digital Services Offerings including revenues, cost, and margins
  • The Digital Services Manager will continue to function as the Remote Monitoring Services Manager and:
    • Provide leadership and management to the Remote Monitoring team
    • Manage Remote Monitoring contracts and trials
    • Create development plans for Remote Monitoring team
    • Translate reliability opportunities into bottom-line cost savings & top-line growth, i.e. implement reliability improvement programs/processes and high-impact projects to deliver bottom-line cost reductions.
    • Provide valuable input to technical leadership at all levels of the mines with special emphasis on interacting with Operations and Maintenance crews.
    • Provide engineering, human-reliability factors, process and systemic solutions to complex reliability & asset availability challenges.
    • Support the continued development and administration of analytical platforms and applications designed to improve reliability centered data reporting, analysis, and decision layer visualization and reports.
    • They will work closely with Global Productivity Center to create insights and improve algorithms to predict failures with the domain knowledge and insights from by reliability engineers at customer sites. He/she will also participate to various digitalization projects to provide practical inputs in the design phase of service applications.
