Material Handler

Emerson has an exciting opportunity in our Sherman, TX, location to join our team as a Material Handler. If you are safety conscious, follow through on commitments, and work well in a team environment, this position is for you.  As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for assisting to pull, kit, and ship jobs.  

In this Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Operates a Raymond fork truck by loading and unloading materials onto racks. 
• Reads and understands work order requirements. 
• Performs replenishment functions to the Value Stream(s).
• May operate an electric hand jack.
• Accurately verifies quantities and audits transactions.
• Reads pick lists and accurately pulls correct parts and quantities.
• Must be able to obtain mobile equipment certifications within designated timeframe. 
• Must follow all safety and quality guidelines, policies, and procedures. 
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Supervisor or Manager.

For this Role You will Need

• 90 Days of previous Emerson work experience is required.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic math and reading comprehension skills. 
• Ability to communicate effectively. 
• Ability to learn basic computer functions within one month of employment, including Oracle software. 
• Ability to work in a team environment and perform cross functional job assignments. 
• Ability to learn and obtain certifications (as required) to operate various material moving equipment, power hand tools, and overhead hoists. 
• Ability to do all of the above under stress and deadlines, sometimes without all available resources.
• Flexibility in work hours; available to work occasional to frequent overtime.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart

• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
