What You Will Do

This role is for a CAM/CNC Programmer supporting Pratt & Whitney AutoAir Aftermarket Operations. The role will be responsible programming in support of CNC machining operations at an FAA Repair Station. The person in this role will utilize various 3D modeling, surfacing techniques and 2D data to modify and extract data from existing geometry to produce CNC toolpaths for multi-axis milling machines and lathes. Additionally, you will provide manufacturing personnel with program routing, setup, and sequence information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write, develop, validate, and debug CNC programs and provide supporting documentation for 3, 4 and 5 axis milling machines, vertical turning lathes, and horizontal lathes.

  • Create CNC program routing, setup, and sequence information to assist shop floor personnel.

  • Provides instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide setup and operation of machines.

  • Perform toolpath verification prior to program deployment.

  • Analyze 3D files, 2D Drawings, and specifications to determine programming requirements.

  • Determine the best tooling and machining strategies for each part.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • 12+ years of CNC / CAM Programming experience

  • 12+ years of experience running G-code simulations, editing and troubleshooting CNC programs

  • 12+ years of experience setting up CNC machines (i.e. mills, lathes, etc.)

  • 12+ years of experience using G&M Codes, defining Cutting Tools, Feeds and Speeds

  • 12+ years of experience reading and interpreting Blueprints, and applying Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in STEM field.  Engineering preferred.

  • Aftermarket Aerospace Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) experience

  • Experience with FAA Repair Stations

  • CAM Software Experience (MasterCam, Siemens NX Cam or similar)

  • CAD Software Experience (Siemens NX and Vericut preferred)

  • Experience with fixture and jig standard practices.

  • Experience with machining techniques, cutting tools, and toolpath optimization.

  • Experience with Haas, Kuraki and Bullard equipment

  • Experience working with Solumina MES, Teamcenter, SAP ERP, CAD and MS Office Suite.

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma).

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management.

The salary range for this role is 59,000 USD - 125,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
