Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology

Description

The Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at Yale University is looking to hire a full-time non-tenured instructional track Lecturer or Sr. Lecturer with an initial three-year appointment specializing in Molecular Biology beginning July 1, 2025. Candidates who can also work beyond that field, such as teaching in Biotechnology are encouraged to apply. 

The teaching expectation is normally four-to-five courses per academic year, plus service to the program, including the advising of students and in the sharing of the variety of departmental administrative responsibilities. The focus of the courses would be the Laboratory in Nucleic Acids I (MCDB 342L offered in both the Fall and Spring Terms); the Laboratory in Nucleic Acids II (MCDB 343L offered in the Fall Term only); the co-teaching of the Advanced Molecular Biology Laboratory (MCDB 303L offered in the Spring Term) and oversight of the MCDB-managed FACS core facility. Candidates with relevant experience or strong interest in contributing to the Yale College Science, Technology and Research Scholars (STARS) Program, designed to support students in the sciences, engineering, and mathematics who come from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, will be given extra consideration.

Qualifications

The appointee must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree or have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. by June 1, 2025.
