JOB SUMMARY
The Academy Recruit is a temporary position held by individuals seeking to become Patrol Officers with the Northeastern University Police Department (NUPD). Academy Recruits hold their temporary position while attending the Police Academy, through graduation and until they transition to and are sworn as an NUPD Police Officer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 21 years old.
- A high school diploma or the equivalent.
- A valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.
- Ability to qualify for a Massachusetts License to Carry a Firearm.
- Ability to pass the Massachusetts Physical Agilities Test.
- Ability to pass the MPTC Academy Fitness Test
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background, psychological and medical.
- Acceptance into a Massachusetts Certified Police Academy
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Attend Police Academy and perform all required training and exercises.
