About the role

Basic Function Summary

Washes and rinses the aircraft and/or components.
Performs pre/post wash lubrication procedures.
Installs and removes protective covers.
Moves aircraft utilizing towing equipment
Must be familiar with normal operational safety requirements, working on and around aircraft and ground support equipment.
Must be capable of comprehending written and oral instructions for the use of aircraft cleaning equipment.
Extreme care required when washing aircraft and/or components to prevent damage

Operate ground support equipment.

Operate portable fire fighting equipment.
Monitor and assist the line move crew when operating inside the hangar.
Prepare aircraft for washing by ensuring vent areas are taped and all protective covers are in place.
Wash and rinse external and internal surface of aircraft and aircraft components to remove grease, dirt, oil, fungus and stains.
Polish and clean windshields and canopies with water, polishing and cleaning compounds and cloth.
Perform pre/post wash lubrication and procedures.
Document work accomplished on government and company electronic and/or manual Information Systems
Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area.

Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOO) prevention rules and regulations.
Responsible for adhering to the Tool Control Program.
Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities and job assignment.
Monitor and assist the line move crew when operating inside the hangar.
Pursuant to the specific provisions of the CBA, at the discretion of management, may be requested to perform the duties of Lead.
Perform other related duties within the job classification.
Assist in ensuring the safety, security, inventory and preservation of Government owned and Company owned equipment.

Qualifications

Three (3) months aviation maintenance and/or flight line experience preferred.
Must meet any other qualification standard imposed by the government contract not covered by this agreement

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Climbing, standing stooping, bending pushing, kneeling, stretching, extensive walking and working in tiring uncomfortable positions. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds.

The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards.
