About the role
Who We Are
At Firestorm, we’re on a mission to revolutionize how defense solutions are designed and delivered. Our goal is to empower U.S. ally nations to effectively deter aggressors — regardless of their defense budget — through innovative, cost-efficient technologies. We call this vision “democratized deterrence.” As a VC-backed company at the intersection of defense and Silicon Valley, we’re pioneering the development of mission-adaptable aerial vehicles that put power back into the hands of operators. By prioritizing operator effectiveness, we’re pioneering a new era of aerial vehicle design. We aim to upend the traditional defense procurement model by delivering world-class capabilities at a fraction of the usual cost. Join us at Firestorm as we redefine defense procurement, making cutting-edge technology accessible to all at a fraction of the cost. About the Role Firestorm Labs is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our growing team in San Diego. At Firestorm Labs, we are building the future of distributed, mission-adaptive airpower for the modern warfighter. The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer is a key technical leader responsible for building a high-performing, reliable, and scalable supply base that supports Firestorm’s rapid growth and production demands. This role ensures that every material, component, and service delivered by suppliers meets stringent quality, performance, and regulatory expectations. You will lead the development of supplier quality systems from the ground up, including supplier selection and qualification, audit programs, risk mitigation strategies, defect prevention methods, and corrective action processes.
You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, and New Product Introduction teams to ensure that supplier capabilities align with evolving technical requirements and production volume goals. You will evaluate supplier readiness, guide suppliers through qualification activities, and establish controls that support early development builds through full-rate production. Your work will directly influence Firestorm’s ability to scale efficiently, maintain product reliability, and ensure mission readiness across all platforms.
This role is hands-on and highly collaborative, suited for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, excels at technical problem solving, and can influence both internal teams and external partners. You will be responsible for identifying risks early, driving continuous improvement, and shaping supplier quality practices that support Firestorm’s long-term manufacturing strategy. What You'll Do
