This is a seasonal position that will run from January 2025 until November/December 2025, working approximately 40 hours a week.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • With guidance from CR Team, assist in planning and executing all Atlanta United Community Relations (CR) programs and volunteer initiatives including but not limited to pediatric illness platform, Special Olympics Unified trainings and home match(es), Stars, Stripes and Soccer Cup, and Atlanta United Youth Soccer programming.
  • Support CR team with preparation of events/activations including but not limited to, communication, budgets, inventory, vendor relationships, event/group research, and document procurement.
  • Lead match day communications and logistics of special guests/groups, Honorary Captain, distribution of tickets via TicketMaster, and childcare reservations.
  • Management of the CR Inbox, CR calendar, CR social media tracker, CR contacts database, Communications tracker, Formsite creation and tracking, and photo/video requests and archives.
  • Lead post-event communication and organization including but not limited to recap meetings, and detailed note taking.
  • Handle fulfillment of Atlanta United donation requests and distribution of department giveaway requests via DonationX.
  • Oversee volunteer communication and task assignments before, during and after event execution.
  • Meticulously organize, maintain and track all CR inventory for multi-location storage units.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management/Administration, Hospitality, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations/Communications, or similar.
  • Must be able and willing to drive own car to and from work/events/site-visits.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in all Microsoft Suite applications especially Outlook, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in Event Planning, Community Engagement, Hospitality, Customer Service or related areas.  
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Superior organization skills and be detail-oriented. 
  • Excellent time management and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.  
  • Proactive and self motivated, with excellent problem solving skills.

Preferences:

  • Basic knowledge of MLS and the sport of soccer is preferred 
  • Experience working in sports and events is preferred.
