Payroll Specialist (UKG) in  GAC Savannah


Unique Skills:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support the execution and accuracy of weekly payroll operations for a large, fast‑paced workforce. This role is a key member of the People Team, ensuring timely and precise payroll processing for approximately 17,500 U.S. employees.

 

The ideal candidate will bring deep payroll expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and demonstrated success working in high-volume payroll environments.

 

Required: Experience with UKG Workforce Management

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2 years of related experience. Master's Degree in Business, Accounting or Financeor CPA may offset 1 year of experience.

Position Purpose:

Applies principles of payroll with a primary focus on basic analysis of payroll data, knowledge of payroll systems involved in the payroll process.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Analyzes and maintains a complete and accurate general ledger; prepares managerial and financial reports.
  2. Prepares and compiles financial data in a timely manner to support established schedules and deadlines.
  3. Prepares journal entries and supporting schedules for closing.
  4. Reconciles assigned accounts including preparation of appropriate documentation.
  5. Identifies problems and potential improvements to existing systems and processes.
  6. Prepares schedules, reports, presentations, etc. for management.
  7. Under immediate supervision, follows established procedures to perform tasks that are routine in nature, requiring little evaluation, originality, or ingenuity.
  8. Analyzes records of financial transactions to determine accuracy and completeness of entries. .
  9. Responsible for specialized payroll processes which culminate in the timely and accurate reporting of payroll, and distribution of labor for a single entity.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications, principally Excel is required. Strong technology expertise in other applications a plus.

A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates for this position including new hires and current employees seeking promotion or transfer. This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
