What You Will Do:

Sr. Principal System Administrator Lead, in infrastructure Workplace Services, collaborate with a team to support fast-paced, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.

  • Manage and optimize the server infrastructure in a heterogeneous information system.
  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment. 
  • Lead and manage a team of System Administrators to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of IT systems and applications within their assigned section.
  • Providing leadership to support a varied range of administrative tasking, to include corrective/preventive maintenance, recurring operations functions, account management, and system optimization.
  • Performing leadership and managerial duties for team members, including but not limited to, Performance and development assessments, Career planning, Resource management, Timecard approval, Personal-Time-Off (PTO) approval and management, Talent interviewing and hiring.
  • Supervising administrators whose duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
  • Developing and monitoring policies, standards, processes, and goals for direct reports
  • Working with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned
  • Participating in Change Request reviews, to include participating in Change Management boards at multiple program levels.
  • Coordinating technical and process document reviews and resolving system administration, engineering, and integration issues
  • Participating and leading technical meetings with team members and other program personnel, and representing the organization in functional area matters
  • Working with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
  • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
  • Travel required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate. Up to at 10% per year.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have:  

  • Typically, bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of direct system experience or a master’s degree and 5+ years of directly related experience.
