As a Surgical Secretary, you will register patients for a variety of procedures and surgical appointments, and feel the pride of going above and beyond to help others. In this role, you’ll obtain demographic details, insurance information, and ensure proper scheduling. You’ll record patient history while obtaining pre-certification and authorization for patients obtaining services. You will be the calm and reassuring presence patients need as they navigate their hospital experience. This is a full time 36.25 weekly hours; Monday-Friday with varied scheduled hours of 8:00am-5:00pm (Must be Flexible), overtime as needed. Will be required to cover at other Queens Medical Group locations.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Completed some college coursework and are familiar with health insurance requirements.
  • Experience working in a busy medical surgical practice.
  • Epic experience
  • Bi-lingual Cantonese/Mandarin or Spanish

Required Criteria:

  • Qualified candidates have at least one year of clerical experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Energetic, approachable individual with a desire to put patients first.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
