Senior Frontend Engineer, Community

We’re leaders in the membership space with 250,000+ active creators and over $3.5 billion paid directly to creators on our platform. Our team is building tools to optimize the creator-to-fan relationship, including native video, enhanced podcasting features, improved creation tools, and new community experiences. We’re continuing to invest heavily in building the most talented team in the Creator Economy and are looking for a Frontend Engineer for our Community team to support our mission.

About the Role

Community is a brand new team funded particularly to accelerate Patreon’s vision to be THE best home (“community”) for creators and their fans to come together. This product team will design, test, and launch multiple 0->1 features to enrich creator-to-patron and patron-to-patron interactions on Patreon.

• Serve as the primary frontend expert for the team: build, drive, and own the success for new community features on Patreon.com
• Improve the reliability, performance, and stability of the frontend codebase
• Interact with real creators to prototype ideas and gather feedback
• Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, designers, and data scientists to build delightful and well-crafted product experiences

About You

• Strong software development fundamentals
• Experience with Typescript/Javascript, React, and Node.js
• (Ability to operate full-stack and execute on both backend business logic AND frontend UI/UX is welcome)
• Autonomously breaks down large objectives into smaller tasks and executes
• Strong communication skills
• Passion for helping creators and their fans build deeper connections with one another
• A degree in an engineering field or 2+ years of professional experience, that includes working on frontend in a production environment

The posted range represents the expected salary range for this job requisition and does not include any other potential components of the compensation package, benefits and perks previously outlined. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider your experience, leveling, location and other job-related factors.
